Spay/Neuter Policy
For safety reasons, all dogs over 8 months old must be spayed/neutered in order to enter the facility.
Vaccination
All dogs must be up-to-date on Rabies, Distemper (or DHPP, DAPP, DA2PP, DAPPC, DHLPP), and Bordetella (or Kennel Cough) vaccines. Canine flu vaccination is strongly recommended but not required.
Evaluation
At Golden Paw Pet Services, we require that all guests are comfortable and enjoy being in a playgroup. Guests must also play at an appropriate level of strength/excitement and be able to read and respond to social cues given by other dogs.
Before any dog is allowed into a playgroup, we perform a full evaluation to ensure the comfort, enjoyment, and suitability of the dog for group play. Evaluations are held Monday through Friday (not weekends). Drop-off for evaluation is between 7 AM and 9 AM. Pickup time is between 2 PM and 4 PM.
If a dog seems uncomfortable or unable to play in a group setting, we will notify you and discuss our findings with you. All findings will also be recorded on the portal. In many cases, dogs may prefer the quiet of home rather than the stimulation of group play (i.e., not all dogs enjoy group play). If we are not a good fit for your dog, we will do our best to suggest other services that may be beneficial, such as dog walking.
Dogs who show signs of aggression will not be allowed into the facility.
Daycare Hours
Daycare guests are welcome to arrive as soon as we open (7 AM during the week, 9 AM on weekends). On weekdays, daycare playgroups start at 7 AM and continue until 6 PM, with a 1-2 hour rest/lunch break in the middle of the day. After 6 PM, guests will have individual rest time. During peak periods, playtimes may be slightly altered as needed.
On weekdays, daycare guests must arrive between 7 AM and 9 AM to participate in the morning playgroup. Guests must leave between 3 PM and 6:45 PM for Full Day. We offer Half Day in both the morning and the afternoon. For morning Half Day, all guests must arrive between 7 AM and 9 AM. Pickup is between 12 PM and 1 PM. For afternoon Half Day, all guests must arrive between 12 PM and 1 PM. Pickup is between 3 PM and 6:45 PM.
On Saturdays, daycare guests must arrive between 9 AM and 11 AM, and playgroup times vary depending on occupancy. Guests must leave between 3 PM and 4:45 PM. We do not offer Half Day on weekends. We are closed on Sundays.
Check-in/Check-out Times and Charges for Boarding
Boarding guests must check in and check out between 7 AM and 9 AM on weekdays. Check-out can also be done between 12 PM and 1 PM or between 3 PM and 6:45 PM during the week. On Saturdays, check-out must be between 3 PM and 4:45 PM. We are closed on Sundays. Rates may vary depending on pickup time.
Boarding guests are encouraged to arrive as early as possible on the day so that they can get acclimated to the facility and receive playtime before their first night. A playtime package is always included.
On the day of check-out, guests may stay for the full day. Guests checking out in the morning will not be refunded for playtime.
Please note that we are closed on Sundays. There are no pickups or drop-offs on this day! All guests must be picked up on Saturday or the following Monday. If a dog is not picked up by 5 PM on Saturday, the next pick-up date will be the following Monday (if not a holiday), and an additional boarding fee will apply.
Saturday and Sunday Dog Walking Fees
We ask that all clients acknowledge that we will have different rates for Saturday and Sunday dog-walking services. Call/text or email to learn more!
Elderly and Medically Sensitive Dogs
While we wish we could accommodate all dogs, we recognize that there are cases where other providers or services are better suited to care for a pet. In particular, we find that elderly dogs or dogs that have sensitive medical issues are best served by other local providers or by a different service provided by us. Should we feel another provider or local service is better suited to your pet, we will notify you and do our best to point you to the best service.
Facility Tours
We are happy to offer tours of our facility. To ensure that we have adequate staff to give tours and answer any questions, tours are only done with advance booking. Please call to check availability.
Reevaluation
Dogs’ comfort level and behavior change over time, and they are sensitive to their environment. To ensure that your dog continues to feel at home with us, we recommend regular daycare sessions.
If a dog has not visited us for more than 3 months, they will need to be reevaluated before entering a playgroup. In this case, advance scheduling may be required, so please call ahead. A full-day daycare fee will be charged.
Peak Season
We are here to help and will do our best to provide the necessary services for your pet. During peak season, listed below, we ask that you book in advance and acknowledge that there will be a small change in rates. We will be closed on the following holiday dates:
New Year’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
Weather Conditions
We will notify you if we are closed due to dangerous weather conditions. No charge will be required. If we are open and the owner decides it’s not safe to drive in certain weather conditions and decides to cancel, please notify Golden Paw Pet Services at least 4 hours before the scheduled time. If you DO NOT CANCEL (“No Call/No Show”), a $10.00 fee (for daycare services) or the full charge (for pet taxi and dog walking services) will be applied to your account, which will need to be paid at the next booking.
Cancellation Policy
Please give us as much notice as possible, with a minimum of 24 hours before your scheduled daycare, grooming, or dog walking services. Failure to meet this request will result in a $20 charge for daycare and grooming services, and for dog-walking clients, the normal charge will apply. Many cancellations may result in the loss of the scheduled time for your pet.
Boarding and overnight services require a 1-week notice of cancellation before the scheduled date. Cancellations within 1 week will be considered late cancellations, and we will not refund 50% of the total scheduled service, which is the deposit required at confirmation of the requested time.
“No Show”
There may be a perfectly legitimate reason why your dog didn’t show up. Emergencies happen, and if it’s a true emergency, you may not have had the chance to call. However, if you don’t call in advance to cancel and don’t show up for your scheduled time, you will be considered a “no show,” and the following fees will apply:
- Daycare: A $10 fee will be applied to your account.
- Grooming Services: A $20 fee will be applied to your account.
- Boarding and Overnight Services: The full boarding fee for your stay will be charged, with no refund.
Credit Card Acceptance
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. If your card is declined, we ask that you resolve the issue as soon as possible. An unpaid balance may result in the interruption of future services until the balance is paid.
